Southern Shores Island & Dolphin Cruises

Visiting for bike week here in MB & came across this place. What a fun experience this was! Captain Ben & Bailey really know how to have a good time! The dolphin cruise was sold out so we decided to try the jet boat ride and it did not disappoint! Would go again and highly recommend Captain Ben & Bailey!

My niece and I definitely enjoyed our jet boat ride with Ben and Jacob. Thanks so much guys. We’ll definitely be checking out one of the other tours when we’re back in town. Thanks again!

We had so much fun on the jet boat ride. Ireland was the best narrator. She gave us so much information about the intercoastal waterway and made it so much fun. Brian was the best driver to give us the best spins. I took my great nephew for one of his Camp Aunt Kelly adventures. This is something I’ll definitely take my other nieces and nephews on for their Camp Aunt Kelly adventures.

Amazing jet boat ride, really was like a roller coaster on water. You can tell capt Brian has a blast soaking tourists and the mates are mostly friendly (just kidding, they are all great).

We took the Dolphin Tour Tuesday and Forest and Tyler were great! We took the Jet Ski Tour this morning and the Jet Boat in the afternoon and Jeremy and Ben were great! We had so much fun on all three adventures! We highly recommend you do at least one tour while you are at Myrtle Beach with this group! You will not be disappointed! Thank you for the memories!

My bf&I went out Sat at 2pm on the thrill jet boat with Captain J & Jacob & a full group It was our very first time & we had a blast! It was the highlight of my day! That Captain can handle that boat! I will be telling friends &fam they have to check it out!

What an awesome experience we had on our boat tour! Captain Jason and First Mate Chip were very friendly, and knowledgeable, sharing great stories of the history of the water and surrounding areas on our way out to the Atlantic. We pulled on to a beautiful little island where we would be able to explore for a bit. We took off our shoes, rolled up our pant legs and took a few steps off the front of the catamaran and into the water. Our trip was in March and the water is still cold but it was a beautiful day with the sun shining so the few steps in the cold water didn’t bother us. We were able to walk around the island a bit and explore until we heard the horn calling us back and it was time to board the vessel again. We did see one dolphin on our tour, I wasn’t disappointed in not seeing more dolphins because the sun was shining, great music was playing, I had a cold drink in my hand, and the captain even had everyone say Happy Birthday to my husband! I would definitely recommend this tour and will be back to book another trip on my next visit to Myrtle Beach! Be sure to tip your captain and his mate, they deserve it!

We are a family of 4 with 2 boys (currently 3 and 6). We have been on two dolphin tours with Southern Shores. The first time out, we did not see any dolphins - but we had so much fun we didn’t even care! The crew are amazing, plus they have food, drinks, and music. We decided to go again, just because we knew that it would be (if nothing else) a great time. This time, after a 30 minute rain delay, we cruised out for the most incredible ride. The sky was beautiful. The dolphins came out and jumped around for us. It was just so much more than I expected after almost getting rained out. These guys stuck it out for us today to deliver on our booking, and they are true professionals. Thank you, Southern Shores. We can’t wait for next time! ** Honorable mention to Captain Archie’s for some emergency torrential rain accommodations!! They bar is awesome, big and had lots of tables away from the bar (so it’s family friendly). We are grateful to have had a place to shelter with a margarita until it was time to go!

Friendly staff and great interaction with the guests on the boat. Definitely worth doing and allowing plenty of time for site seeing and enjoyed traveling through the water way, the ocean and the stop at the island. It made for a great day and excellent experience and got to see some Dolphins 🐬 swimming. …

Our family of five had an amazing time on the Catamaran Dolphin Cruise! We picked the perfect day for cool weather, clear skies, and plenty of dolphin sightings, plus a shrimp boat passing by which was a fun surprise. The walk from the parking lot to the dock was just a short 2–3 minutes, super easy with kids. The host was both informative and hilarious, which made the ride even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was when he let both of our daughters take turns steering the boat such a memorable moment for them! We also got to see people out on jet skis and even stopped at a small island where we took a peaceful walk and collected seashells. If we ever come back to North Myrtle Beach, this cruise will definitely be on our list again. It was such a relaxing and fun way to spend the day. Highly recommend!

Had a great time with Forest and Spencer. Great guides with great stories! We loved our tour and would definitely come again. Saw many dolphins and overall just had a fun time with my girls! 10/10 would recommend!

Great jet ski tour with Mike. He took us into the ocean where we hung out wirh dolphins for a while and then went to chill on a beach before heading back. Fastest jet skis we’ve rented in the area too!

From the start Tiffany is so awesome. Capitan Jason & Hal amazing dolphin tour soo much fun Captain Ben & Hal on the thrill seeker so much fun. Young blonde Jet ski tour guide was also super awesome. 2 hour ride highly recommend We only have one thing left to do when we come back. I highly recommend them. We had a family of 4 and even the two teenage boys had a great time. Thank you guys so much!!!

I bought my mum and my sister an experience in the form of riding a jet ski. The instructor's name was Mike and he was awesome, he explained everything to my sister and mum, helped them and was also very communicative and friendly. Sister and mum enjoyed the ride very much! I can highly recommend! And so I salute Mike!

Mike was great, we went on a two hour jet ski ride and he took pictures for us and made sure we were okay, even took us to smoother riding spots when my sister was whining about the waves. He was very patient and thorough with all of the directions. I had a great time! Thanks Mike!

My girlfriend and I had an awesome time!! Jeremy was an awesome guide. I highly recommend the Jet Ski activity. We saw a school of dolphins! They were so many!! We stopped by an island for a few mins and chillaxed. We will definitely be back with even more people for sure!

Mike worked with our group and was amazing, got to go to the beach and I got scared because of the waves and he was more than happy to take us to calmer waters. Got to see a shipwreck, lighthouse & other cool views! Mike even offered and took pictures for us so we had pics to look back on. Went on a 2 hr jet ski ride and it wasn’t pricey at all. It was super fun, thank you Mike!!!

My husband and I had an absolute BLAST!!! The captain Robert was so fire, along with his sidekick Jessica who made it even better with her first class hospitality!! The stop at the private island was epic! This is definitely a must book. Made our anniversary memorable and special 🏖️

What an adventure it was! Forest and Ireland were incredible hosts. Very private experience that was worth every cent. From pointing out landmarks to hunting down dolphins to our own excursion on a remote island. If you’re looking to go on an adventure look no further!

Forrest and Jackson make the whole trip! Friendly fun and just amazing!!! Next time our family of nine comes down we would love to do the private longer trip!!! If you want a fun day go see these guys!!!

Captains Forest and Chip provided an amazing experience for myself and two kiddos! They knew where to go to find dolphins, and being able to get off the boat on the private island was such an amazing experience! At the end of the ride, Captain Forest let the kids take the wheel and drive the boat for a brief time. We would 100 percent do this again, if we come back to North Myrtle!

Our family had an amazing time. We did the private cruise. Forest and Spencer was wonderful to the kids and grandkids. Forest let my husband and the kids drive the boat. I went last year also they don't disappoint.

We had the best time mid-september Forrest and Spencer were awesome!! Saw a few dolphins and had fun on the lil island. Definitely a trip to remember for my husbands 40th! 14 friends and family. We loved the private 4hrs it was perfect.

Highly recommend a private charter with Chip and Jason for a girl’s trip! It was the highlight of the week. First charter out in the morning, we were literally surrounded by dolphins, were allowed to bring our own snacks and drinks, and they provided a great music playlist. They made us feel comfortable and like we could be ourselves. If you’re on the fence…it’s worth it!

Our private chartered catamaran sunset cruise was perfect! Our captain, Forrest, was welcoming and friendly from the moment we set foot on the dock. Kirsten was also a great help on board. We saw dolphin, osprey and visited bird island. Highly recommend this crew and company for your next family excursion!

Great time and smooth ride even with some big rollers on the ocean. Jacob and Aiden were the best, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and great sense of humor. We saw so many dolphin thanks to a shrimp boat nearby and then taking advantage of the round up. Great thing about a catamaran is being so close to the water level when viewing them, not way up high like on the larger "sightseeing" boats we saw out there. Only thing I would suggest is a bit more time in the ocean and on the island, nice cruise but takes a while to get out of the intercoastal .We were the last off the boat at the island and barely had ten minutes before they called us back. Maybe next time? Still a great trip!

My friend Ali and I did the Dolphin Cruise and the Jet Boat ride. We did the Dolphin Cruise on the Saturday of our trip- which was AMAZING! We seen at least 30 dolphins while on the cruise. The crew(Kenny and Forrest)made the trip even more fun! They were social and very knowledgable about the area. While we were about to load the boat, we seen the advertising for the Jet Boat ride and asked Kenny about it. Kenny said that they didn’t have any schedulings that day, so we should try another day. On the Monday of our trip, Kenny remembered us and called us to ask if we were still interested in the Jet Boat ride, as they were going out at 2pm. We told him we’d be on our way and we’d meet them there by 2. Ben and Kenny took us out on the Thrill seeker, and we had THE BEST TIME! I highly recommend both Boat rides through Southern Shores Island and Dolphin Cruises!

Had a great dolphin cruise with Capt Forrest and First Mate Chip. Plus, we actually saw dolphin! I will definitely recommend Southern Shores to anyone wanting to have a good time on the water with a knowledgeable Capt and crew.

Captain Jason and First Mate Tyler were very fun, friendly and knowledgeable. They served us fun frozen beverages, we saw dolphins and enjoyed the sunshine. 100% would recommend.

We had a wonderful time. Everything was fantastic. Captain played music for us and our cruise was full of enthusiastic people. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone. We were given highlights of the area as we set out to see the dolphins. While we were reminded that nothing is guaranteed, we were rewarded with many sightings of those fantastic creatures. Boat was clean and safe and the cruise was made even more memorable by only allowing a limited number of participants. It was so much better and more friendly to be with a smaller group of people than to be crammed on a bigger boat with double the number of people! Don't hesitate to take this catamaran cruise...you'll love it!

Great tour!! Saw lots of dolphins. I really liked the fact that the catamaran isn't so huge like some tour boats. Stopping on an uninhabited island was a plus.

We did the noon dolphin cruise. We had a great time! I really enjoyed the smaller catamaran over a larger boat. Along with that fewer people. I know everyday is different and they don’t know if or how many dolphins they may see. We got lucky and saw soooo many. I would guess about 30. We had perfect weather. Being on a smaller boat the captain was able to get pretty close to them. He also took us by a shrimp boat. That was neat to see. Forest was a great captain. Very personable and fun. The first mate (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name) was also great. I highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about this team. I reached out to arrange a sunset cruise as a surprise for my Mom’s 60th birthday. They made the whole process of getting tickets for her and our cousin so easy. After the cruise, both my Mom and cousin called me, absolutely thrilled — you could hear the joy in my Mom’s voice. The captain and his crew went above and beyond to make her birthday truly special. Turning 60 was bittersweet for my Mom, as she and my Dad (who passed away a few years ago) used to joke about it together. Thanks to the care and kindness of the crew, what could have been a difficult day became one filled with happiness and beautiful memories. We are forever grateful. Thank you all so much!

My family and I had a great time. It was well worth it. We saw several dolphins and the crew was friendly and super knowledgeable. The stop at Bird Island was awesome too. We felt safe also the entire time with the crew. Excellent job guys!

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and we wanted to pick a fun adventure for one evening. Dolphins are my favorite animal so I was excited when I discovered Southern Shores! We had an incredible experience thanks to the kindness & intentionality of our Captain & First Mate— Forrest & Ireland! We had the privilege of seeing a dolphin, and docking on the island was serene and stunning. I’ve already recommended Southern Shores to a friend who’s visiting Myrtle Beach next week. Had the absolute pleasure of booking the sunset dolphin cruise with Capt Forest & Spencer, we were even joined by Capt Jason. Very professional staff & the cruise didn’t disappoint it was a gorgeous evening and we saw a pod of dolphins. It was such an amazing experience and one I will cherish for years to come.

We have taken the tour 3 years in a row now. Unfortunately we didn't see dolphins the last time. But it was after the last major storm so we weren't upset. Besides the 2 hour ride was very enjoyable! Captain Forrest allowed my granddaughters to drive the boat. That was the highlight of the tour for me! Thank you for another great afternoon! We'll see ya next year! By far the best touring service in Myrtle!! We tried several before finding Southern Shores!!

From the second, we got to the ticket booth We had an amazing experience. The Captain Forest and his crew made us feel welcomed and at ease right away. As soon as we stepped on the boat, we knew we were in for a great time. The captain and staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. They make one great piña colada. The island excursion was a lot of fun and of course we did see dolphins. Can’t say enough great things about our time on this boat. We will definitely be returning and without a doubt recommend this to anyone in the area looking for something fun to do.

Went here for spring break with the family and had a fantastic time. The staff was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. They had snacks and drinks you could purchase on the ride. They knew the best places to see wildlife (dolphins, birds, etc) and offered suggestions on where to eat. Would definitely do it again.

We booked the 3-5pm cruise and really enjoyed ourselves! Captain Forrest and his First Mate, Tyler, were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We saw 1 dolphin near the entrance to the ocean, and 5 more as we were out from the North Carolina coast. Very cool! On the boat, they sold water, Gatorade and various cans of alcoholic beverages at a reasonable price. The music on the boat was awesome! Even with going over some larger waves at the inlet's entrance, we always felt safe. We also enjoyed stopping at one of the islands near the inlet's entrance and finding lots of live snails and a small, Fiddler's Crab. The entire experience was very relaxing and a lot of fun. We plan to do it again next year. For $35/person, it was totally worth it!

We absolutely Loved Southern Shores Island and Dolphin Cruise experience. We took the evening sunset cruise on June 3, 2024. Kenny was First Mate and was so friendly and amazing! Forest was our Captain and we absolutely loved him. Great play list and great boat ride. We did see one dolphin, which was so cool to watch. The boat ride alone was an Amazing experience. You won’t be disappointed! Please do not forget to tip them. They really do a Great Job!!!

Wow! What a great find! Came across this cruise while looking at Groupon in anticipation of our spring break trip to Myrtle Beach. Travelled with my husband, two 17 yr old boys, and our 13 yr old daughter. Because the ocean was too cold to swim in and the weather was in the 60s, we decided to book this dolphin cruise to have some time outside on the water. We were not disappointed. Called the company several days ahead to confirm and Benjamin, the owner, was friendly, efficient, and responsive. Captain Forrest and Lt. “Dan” Tyler were helpful, friendly, and humerous. Loved the music, anbility to purchase drinks/snacks, and Forrest’s knowledge and explanation of the flora/fauna/history of the area. Saw some dolphins but really enjoyed stopping at the island for 15-20 minutes to explore the tide pools there. Be sure to look for the crabs! Not many boats in the water this time of year so it was extremely enjoyable. We had the island to ourselves. Highly recommend!!!!
