Satoi is an excellent teacher, and mizuhiki is a lovely art form. Add in the origami envelopes, and you have something both decorative and practical (as well as a gin afternoon making them!)

I attended an Ikebana class recently, and here's my concise review: The teacher was fantastic, knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about Ikebana. The venue was beautiful and serene, enhancing the Ikebana experience. High-quality materials were provided for stunning arrangements. The class fee offered excellent value for the enriching experience. I learned Ikebana basics, history, and hands-on techniques. What I liked most was the meditative aspect, appreciating simplicity, balance, and mindfulness in design. Excited to explore Ikebana further!

I thought it was a good introductory class for the money. The materials were appropriate for a beginner class. There was a lot to cover and I missed some of the instructions while concentrating on my work.

I took an ikebana flower arrangement class with Asae, and it was a great experience. She started with a powerpoint presentation that covered the history and principles of ikebana, providing helpful context before we began working on our arrangements. Her explanations were thorough and detailed, making it easy to follow along even for beginners. For the hands-on portion, we created a "rising form" floral arrangement, with step-by-step guidance from Asae. She gave individual feedback and answered any questions we had, ensuring that everyone understood the techniques. At the end of the class, we were able to take our flower arrangements home, though the tools and materials were not included (they can be purchased on Amazon). Overall, this class was a great introduction to ikebana, and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about Japanese floral design.

Ms. Takahashi was a great teacher. She taught us a lot while also being concise. It was a little challenging but she and the other teacher were helpful and provided help. Our teacher was very thoughtful and made sure to spend time with every student's creation at the end even when it was getting later than 8pm. She really cares for the art and you can tell she loves to teach about it too!
