What Actually Happens in the Session
Each guest sits for an individual portrait, about five minutes from start to finish. The camera captures your energetic state in that specific moment, producing a colorful portrait unique to you at that point in time. What follows is a personal reading of the colors that appear, not a laminated card with a color chart, but an actual interpretation grounded in real knowledge of what those colors mean. Every guest leaves with a printed portrait. The organizer receives digital copies of all portraits plus detailed aura reports for every participant. The studio is private, hosted at Devotion Studios on Chartres Street, which means your group has the space to themselves.
What Makes It Work for a Group
The format turns out to be ideal for parties because it creates conversation at every stage. While one person is being photographed, everyone else is watching, waiting, speculating about what colors might appear. When the portraits come out, comparing them is its own event. Whose aura is deep purple? Who showed up in yellow? The digital reports give the group something to return to after the trip ends, a thread that keeps the experience alive past the moment itself. Bachelorette groups, birthday gatherings, and close friend trips all find something meaningful in it, partly because the experience asks you to be honest and a little vulnerable, and doing that alongside your people creates a kind of closeness that's hard to manufacture with a typical activity.
The French Quarter Context
There's a reason this studio exists in New Orleans and specifically in the French Quarter. The city has a long, genuine relationship with mysticism, spiritual practice, and the idea that there are forces at work beneath the surface of things. An aura photography experience rooted in that tradition, run by someone who has practiced Witchcraft for over 20 years and written the book on it literally, fits here in a way it wouldn't fit anywhere else. You're not doing a tourist-y version of New Orleans mysticism. You're walking into a studio where the real thing is being practiced, by someone who built the machine herself.
