My husband, Jacob and I, had a very fun cruise wedding planned out to the Bahamas until Covid happened. We didn’t know what we were going to do. Everyone had already bought plane and cruise tickets for our big day in September.
In the meantime, we had a fun friends trip planned to Colorado. I had secretly been stalking photographers and #elopement on Instagram. It took some convincing to get Jacob on board because he said he wanted me to “have the wedding I deserve,” but this chick just wanted to be Mrs. Martin!
With some convincing, he agreed and I started planning about 2 1/2 weeks before our trip out west. My engagement photographer, @larissasorokaphoto, is a saint and agreed to fly out to shoot our big day.
I found a florist, @boulderblooms on Instagram that had raving reviews. I sent them some Pinterest inspiration and they came through! We scoped out an easy location, at the top of a mountain called Lost Gulch to have a private ceremony and pop some bottles.
The stress of wedding planning is absolutely unreal. The elopement wedding I chose was the complete opposite. At the end of the day, all that matters is that we love each other, and we are married.
Cheers to all the brides contemplating an elopement—DO IT!
Thank you @kourt1007 for sharing your story with the BATCH Fam. Congratulations on becoming Mrs. Martin!
